Pray for Revival
In the Old Testament revival came to Israel and Judah preceded by the lamenting cries of kings, prophets, and ordinary people. 2 Chronicles 7:14 says, “if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” The promise begins with God's people seeking Him and praying for God to work anew in their hearts.
Habakkuk 3:2 states, “O LORD, revive Your work in the midst of the years!” And, the psalmist says in Psalms 85:6, “Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you?”
In Luke 2:25, 37, Simeon and Anna devoted themselves to God and prayed that they might see God's consolation of Israel. God graciously answered their prayers when they looked upon the baby who was the Saviour of the world.
God has promised to move in response to prayer, "Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know" (Jeremiah 33:3). We are limited, but prayer taps the unlimited power of Almighty God
