"Let the American youth never forget, that they possess a noble inheritance, bought by the toils, and sufferings, and blood
of their ancestors; and capacity, if wisely improved, and faithfully guarded, of transmitting to their latest posterity all the
substantial blessings of life, the peaceful enjoyment of liberty, property, religion, and independence." --Joseph Story

A Prayer for Our American Soldiers

Based on Psalm 91

O Lord Most High, I pray our troops will dwell in your secret place
and abide under Your shadow.

Give them faith to believe and say out loud for everyone to hear that You are their refuge
and their fortress; that You are their God; and that in You they put their trust.

O Lord God Almighty, please deliver them from hidden traps and diseases.

Father God, cover them with Your camouflage; hide them under Your wings; and let
Your truth be their shield and buckler against the fiery darts—the lies—of the enemy.

Lord Jesus, help them not to be afraid of terrorists' attacks in the night; or weapons that
fly by day; or sicknesses that walk in darkness; or destruction that wastes at noonday.

O Holy God, though a thousand fall at their side, and ten thousand fall at their right hand;
please let it not come close to our soldiers and their companions.

O Lord Most High, let them live to see the reward of the wicked, because You are their refuge
and their home.  Let no evil conquer them and let no plague come into their house or near their family.

O Lord, our Strength and our Redeemer, please set angels over our troops to keep them
in all Your ways, to bear them up in their hands and to keep their feet from stumbling.

Father God, help the troops to tread upon the lion and adder and trample the
young lion and the dragon under their feet.

Lord Jesus, we love you with all my heart and we know Your name.  Deliver our troops
and lift them on high to soar with the eagles.  I call upon you to be with them in times of trouble
to deliver and honor them because I know Your name.
Please show them Your salvation and satisfy them with a long life.

I ask this prayer in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen
